Lessons from Pineapples
Invest in what grows you.
Planting pineapples is a lesson in patience. Patience has always been one of my weaknesses. Like the pictures I share of my plants, I still have a lot of growing to do. However, it starts with investing in what grows me. I embrace learning in all aspects of my life: professionally, personally and poetically. Growth takes time, means facing failure and sometimes requires starting over. However, you can never give up. If I had pulled up the first pineapple plant after waiting four years for a fruit, I would not have been able to post that I will be harvesting eight pineapples this year. I post this content to inspire others to starting growing food. I had to learn from other farmers and gardeners – and I continue to learn from them.
